Asian Tigers Group – Hong Kong CEO and President of the FIDI Global Alliance, Rob Chipman, has recently penned an article on compliance in the moving industry in the recent August/September 2016 edition of FIDI Focus.

In the article, he comments on the increasingly comprehensive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that movers are operating under. The increased amount of paperwork often decreases efficiency and increases costs.

To address this issue and to move towards standardisation in compliance, FIDI is introducing their own SLA and also encourages agents to use the FIDI approach when requesting SLAS from their partners.

In this issue of FIDI Focus, Mr. Chipman also discusses the new SOLAS regulations the complexities of cost calculations that take into account compliance with the new regulations.

The various hard and soft costs involved in these calculations make selecting the most suitable approach for charging customers for SOLAS compliance a challenge that many agents are facing now.
